Air Serbia is a national carrier and the largest airline company in Serbia. During the times of Yugoslavia it was one of the largest airlines in Europe. It was founded in 1927 as Aeroput and is one of the oldest ones in the world. It stopped operating in during WW II, and resumed is work in 1947, having been renamed as JAT (Jugoslovenski Aerotransport) on 1 APril 1947, and then Jat Ariways in 2003. Since October, 2013, the company has been named as Air Serbia. The base is Nikola Tesla Airport. The company operates regular international flights to 28 destinations in 20 countries.
